Are you a writer, illustrator, storyteller, creative or part of a community group passionate about children’s literature? We’re excited to invite you to contribute to the 2025 Southgate Children’s Literature Festival programme!


This festival celebrates creativity and the joy of reading, bringing together children, families, and the community. We’re seeking imaginative and engaging events to add to the programme, inspiring young minds and nurturing a love of storytelling.


What We’re Looking For

We’re open to ideas for workshops, performances, talks, readings, participatory sessions, or anything that explores the magic of children’s literature in creative ways. 


Requirements:

  • Your event must take place on Saturday, 12 July 2025 during the festival.

  • Activities must focus on children and literature.


What We Provide:

  • Access to venues such as St. Andrew’s Church Hall, or Halo Theatre

  • Marketing and promotional support via festival channels.


How to Apply:

Send a short proposal including:

  • Details about yourself or your organisation.

  • A description of your event idea and its audience.

  • A budget outline for costs/fees.


Submit your application to info@SouthgateKidsLitFest.org by 10am on Friday 14th March.


Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 21st March.


Commissions will be decided by a panel of the festival producers. The festival producers reserve the right to amend the terms of the open call. If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact info@SouthgateKidsLitFest.org
